Sleep is the second half of the day...

...and the BETTER half!

Beauty Sleep

Did you know that people who are deprived from sleep appear LESS attractive?
GET YOUR SLEEP! (enough said)

Have trouble sleeping?
1. Leave the coffee behind.  Skip out on the caffeine drinks later in the day.  Caffeine stays in your stystem for about 3-12 hours.  Its a big range.

2. Listen to white noise or relaxation cd's.  Ever notice how a rain storm or the sound of a creak makes you fall to sleep?  Its relaxing to your mind!

3. Avoid the "before bed snack".  It raises your blood sugar and inhibits you to sleep.

4. Avoid using LOUD alarm clocks!  It is stressful on your body when you wake to something as obnoxious as a loud beep.  Try getting an alarm clock that plays radio.  Put it on a lower volume, enough to wake you up though.

5. Hot room?  Try keeping you bedroom temperature no higher than 70'.

6. Skip the booze.  Even though most of us know drinking makes us all tired.  Unfortunately your body doesn't fall into as deep of a sleep which is where your body does most of its repairing after.

Remember her name was "Sleeping Beauty" for a reason!

Breakfest is your bestfriend!

YES EAT BREAKFAST!

Breakfast is something we all need to stop skipping out on!
I will admit myself, i don't even like to eat breakfast.
We all need to hop on the breakfast wagon and eat!

Trying to lose weight?
Many studies show that eating breakfast helps you lose weight and keep the weight off!
Making breakfast takes time out of your morning routine. Its time consuming when we are already running late! Many of us skip breakfast thinking we are cutting calories, but by the time mid morning or lunch come we re starved and the snacks and bigger meals hit us.  Your setting yourself up for faliur by not eating breakfast by replacing those skiped calories with more calories through out the day nibbling!!!

People who eat breakfast maintain a 30lb weight loss (or higher) up to a year!

What do I eat?
Fruits, veggies, and whole grains!!  They are high fiber foods that will fill your up while bringing less fat to the table.
If you eat food such as a bagel you rack up calories.  Instead eat oatmeal, strawberry's, walnuts, and low fat yogurt!

A banana a day keeps the fat away!

Yummy Foods that make skin GLOW!

Put away the Top Roman and eat some CHOCOLATE!
Yes you heard me chocolate!
Today i thought i would list some foods that are great for your health and skin!
Who knew eating some foods would make you Glow...

Mellon.
Watermelon, cantaloup, and mangoes are high in water and very hydrating for your skin.  These tasty melons are high in carotenoids and are said to protect your skin from painful sunburns.  Hear that moms?  Pool/sprinkler day in the summer?  Bust out some yummy watermelon popsicles for the kids.

 Nuts and Seeds.
Going on a long trip?  Forget the chips! Almonds, walnuts and toasted pumpkin seeds are a perfect "glow-tastic" snack. They contain anti-inflammatory and immunity-enhancing nutrients, including vitamin E, which are said to help reduce skin flare-ups. So pack these tasty treats up and snack away :)

Chocolate.
You heard me!
Dark chocolate contains high levels of cocoa flavanols which are said to help skin look softer and more hydrated. Plus, who doesn't like a little chocolate here and there.  I'm not talking mounds of chocolate either!  A square a day will keep the rough skin away!

Blueberries.
Spice up a snack with some color :)
Blueberries are anti-aging miracles!  They are loaded with antioxidants to fight free radical damage, which ages your skin and the rest of you.  Put them in your pancakes!

Fish.
Hear that Catholic fasters? Eat fish more than just Fridays!  Salmon, tuna, cod, and sardines are high in omega-3 fatty acids, which help moisturize and promote healthy skin.  Also it gives you shiny hair ;)

Yogurt.
Yummy! Who doesn't like yogurt?  Yogurt helps kill bad bacteria which will reduce acne!  Hear that, skip the pudding, pack yogurt for lunch.  (add some yummy granola and strawberries too).

Acerola Cherries.

Your average cherry doesn’t supply a lot of vitamin C, but that’s not true for Acerolas. One of these cherries supplies 100% of your daily allowance for vitamin C, which is GREAT news for your skin!!

I hope you enjoyed this!  Do you know of any foods that are great for skin? LIST BELOW!

November Favorites

As we near the end of November i thought i would share with you a few of my monthly favorite products.
My first product is something i use all the time (cant live without!)

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Tan Glow
Oddly i don't use this for my legs!  haha.  I recently discovered this product when my friend was using it before going out one night.  Body Makeup.  I bought some, but being on the tanner side of things never really used it.
Recently i had a few blemishes on my face and i don't wear foundation to cover it it.  So i used Sally Hansen's Leg Makeup on my face.
I discovered that it applyed in a very evenly manner.  ALSO IT DID NOT MAKE ME BREAK OUT!   My reasoning for never wearing foundation is because i become to dependent on it and break out more.
I do not put this on my face everyday, but on special occasions where i don't want my powder to sweat off i use this and have an even tone all night!!!!
You can purchase this at most drug stores (walmart/albertsons/cvs/target ect..)
I purchased it at Target for around $8.00.

Friz Ease Hair Serum
I have come to LOVE John Frieda's Friz Ease Hair Serum!!!
DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT IF you don't have naturally frizzy hair!  It would be a waste of money.  In my case i LOVE it.  I have naturally thick, frizzy dry hair which i damage ALL the time.  So this comes in handy in making my hair feel SOFT.
Be stingy with this though or your hair might feel greasy.  A dime size amount if not less will do.
I purchased this at Albertsons for around $5.00.  Most drug stores should hold this.

TruBlend Minerals Loose Powder
TruBlend Minerals Loose Pwder #435 color Golden Sunrise by Cover Girl.
WHEEWWW that was a long one.
I CAN NOT LIVE with out this.  This stays in my purse and goes with me everywhere.
Let me say a LITTLE goes a long way.  I use this on my face and neck.  Sometimes on my chest.  I prefer to use a makeup brush to apply rather than the puff it comes with!
Be careful with this product, you don't want your face to be an odd color.  BLEND WELL.
I love this product though.  I instantly feel prettier when applied on my face.
This product lasts me for about 2 months maybe a little longer (depending on how much you use).
I purchased this product at Walmart for around $6.00.

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my November Favorites!  I did not list many because i know i will use some for my December Favorites.

What are you November Favorites?? Comment Below :)
